Sofia Astakhov started her Musical education at the age of 5 years, since she is borned in a musician family. She was educated at the special music school of Kotor in Montenegro. After her degree in 2003, she studied at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Munich, Germany, in the class of professor Ulf Rodenhäuser and at the Staatliche Musikhochschule Freiburg, Germany, in the class of professor Jörg Widmann. In 2011 she graduated the highest level of music education in Freiburg.
For 20 years she is playing a lot of concerts all over the world. With concerts she traveled to China, USA, Netherlands, France, Sweden, Montenegro, Ukraine. She was playing regularly at the music festivals such as Schleswig Holstein Musikfestival, or Mecklenburg Vorpommern Festspiele. Also, she won as a soloist, in piano and clarinet, in different competitions such as the Jeunesse Musical competitions in Bucharest.
Currently Sofia is teaching clarinet, Saxophone and Piano as a private teacher. As a soloist she is playing in Jewish Chamber Orchestra in Munich and also other different orchestras in Europe (the Filarmonia Frankfurt, Festival Orchestra Westfalen…).
